Fortitude Investment Partners’ portfolio company Active Adventures expands its US footprint with the acquisition of Discovery Bicycle Tours

Henslow is pleased to announce that we have assisted Fortitude Investment Partners’ portfolio company Active Adventures on the acquisition of Vermont-based Discovery Bicycle Tours. This acquisition helps to expand Active Adventures strategic footprint in the US and adds a larger repertoire of cycling tours to Active Adventures’ offering.

Active Adventures is the Queenstown-based premium small group active tour operator, offering an exciting portfolio of adventure trips to global destinations. This transaction is Active Adventures’ second bolt-on acquisition in the US, following the 2021 acquisition of Austin Adventures, a family-focused small group adventure tour operator with trips across national park destinations in the US.

Discovery Bicycle Tours runs 100+ annual trips in states across the US, Europe, Chile, New Zealand and Vietnam. The transaction is very complementary to the broader Active Adventures group, which predominantly services US clientele, providing greater trip diversity to the customer bases of both businesses.

The Henslow team worked alongside Active Adventures management and Fortitude Investment Partners deal team to conduct a comprehensive global search process to identify strong acquisition targets, leveraging Oaklins global footprint.  The transaction adds to Henslow’s strong track record in the travel sector and advising businesses on a path to growth.
