Henslow advises on the sale of Vysus Australia’s grid and power systems consulting business to Rennie
Henslow is pleased to announce that it has advised on the completion of the sale of Vysus Australia’s grid and power systems consulting business (Vysus Grid) to Rennie, a portfolio company of Pemba Capital Partners. Vysus Grid is Australia’s largest dedicated grid connection consultancy, sitting at a critical point in the country’s energy transition. The acquisition brings the business into a fast growing, net zero focused advisory platform, positioning it to scale its specialist capability as demand for grid connection expertise continues to accelerate.
Vysus Grid is a specialist grid connection and power systems advisory business, and Australia’s largest dedicated grid connection consultancy. The business traces its origins to Econnect Australia, one of the world’s first renewable energy focused grid consultancies, and has more than 20 years of history supporting Australia’s most complex grid connection projects. Vysus Grid guides developers, network operators, and utilities through the multi stage regulatory process of connecting new generation to the grid, and has delivered more than 280 projects supporting over 20 GW of connected capacity. It is led by a team of specialist power systems engineers in Australia, supported by dedicated delivery teams in India and Malaysia.
Rennie is a multidisciplinary national advisory firm focused on the global transition to net zero, with offices in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne. Founded in 2021, Rennie advises government, energy, and infrastructure clients across strategy, capital, policy, and sustainability. Rennie is a portfolio company of Pemba Capital Partners, a leading Australian private equity investor in high growth, founder led businesses. The acquisition of Vysus Grid extends Rennie’s technical capability in grid connection and deepens its position at the centre of Australia’s energy transition.
Henslow acted as corporate advisor to Vysus Group and its shareholder Inspirit Capital on the sale of the Australian grid business, managing a comprehensive process from preparation through to completion. The transaction adds to Henslow’s track record in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and in advising international vendors on the carve out and sale of their Australian operations.
