Belgiovane Williams Mackay

Divestment of Belgiovane Williams Mackay to Dentsu Aegis.

Henslow acted as the sell-side advisor to the BWM Group in relation to the 51% stake sold to Dentsu Aegis. The Henslow team advised on the pricing, structuring, negotiating and execution of the transaction. The cross border transaction involved a complex negotiation process across different time zones. We were able to structure the deal in a manner that met shareholder expectations of both BWM and Dentsu going forward. The divestment creates increased opportunities for BWM customers and staff through shared learnings and innovative idea generation with a global media group. The BWM Group is a creative advertising, consumer focused social public relations communications agency servicing the digital, agribusiness, and indigenous sectors and based in Melbourne and Sydney.

Forming a dynamic and creative media group

The Dentsu Aegis network is a leading Japanese advertising and communications group, known as one of the largest communications players globally and operates two top-five media companies in Australia. The 51% stake in BWM is seen as an attractive acquisition, having started as a pure creative agency and then transforming into a broad based group with a growing digital business.
