Henslow advises the acquisition of Maggie Beer Products
Maggie Beer epitomises the Australian entrepreneurial spirit that we love to work with.
We’re pleased to have advised the family company of Maggie and Colin Beer on the sale of its remaining 52% shareholding in Maggie Beer Products, one of Australia’s most highly regarded gourmet food businesses, to ASX listed Longtable Group Limited.
From farm to table.
Starting in 1979 in South Australia opening a farm shop and the Pheasant Farm Restaurant, which continue to be family owned, Maggie Beer and her husband Colin have built an empire and a household brand, shaping the Australian food landscape and Barossa Valley tourism. Today, Maggie Beer Products specialises in a range of pates, gourmet ice creams, fruit pastes, verjuice and other cooking ingredients with total sales approaching $20 million last year.
Four decades driven by purpose.
Maggie Beer’s secret hinges on the founder’s commitment to quality. The business growth has been underpinned by one specific aim = to make the very best products available to all.
Our involvement.
Speaking of working with the Henslow team, Maggie said, “One of the things important to us in life is to deal with people you feel comfortable with and like; one who both listens; who ‘get you’ and of course understand the machinations of big business. Paul Young, our advisor, fitted the bill perfectly”
The Henslow team worked with Maggie Beer in the sale to Longtable to ensure the company’s legacy and continual growth. Maggie Beer herself will continue her invaluable association with Longtable as an ambassador and director and will also continue to advise on product development
Maggie Beer is an Australian icon and we are honoured to be a part of this chapter in her story.
