Henslow Defence and Security Conference 2024
Building on the resounding success of our inaugural event last year, Henslow was pleased to once again host our Defence & Security Conference at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sydney on Thursday, 30 May 2024, moderated by Henslow’s Defence analyst Tyson Williams.
The conference featured several presentations from defence professionals and industry leaders, who offered valuable insights into both the opportunities and challenges that exist as governments globally increase defence spending to enhance and modernise their defence and security capabilities and infrastructure. This year, we were excited to incorporate discussions around ‘Funding the next generation of Australian defence companies’, led by Nick Andrew (Henslow, Director-M&A) where our panelists (Mark Stevens of Periscope Partners / Arican / HighCom, Andrew Crowe of Crowe Advisory / Black Book Advisory and Mark Palmer of Sentient Vision Systems) shared their insights into the evolving defence landscape.
We also had the pleasure of hearing from two keynote speakers: Steve Baxter, CEO of Beaten Zone, sharing his views on why defence is challenging to invest in and why investors should consider this sector and Raphael Petit, Managing Partner of Oaklins France, providing an overview of European M&A defence activity.
The conference provided many opportunities for collaboration and networking among companies, industry leaders, and the Australian investment community. Henslow is proud to foster these relationships and contribute to the success of the Australian defence and security sector.
